Doing our part in the fight against anti-drag legislation
We are proud to support drag brunches in Tennessee and nationwide in the face of anti-drag legislation by doing what we do best - serving really good eggs.

Brunch is for everyone.

In March 2023, legislation was enacted in Tennessee to restrict drag brunches, the rights of performers and those who enjoy their shows. Though the law has been ruled unconstitutional by a federal judge, the decision is widely expected to be appealed, and more bills like this are popping up around the country. We see this effort for what it is – a thinly veiled attempt to divide people and communities, and to frame those who have the right to freely express themselves as somehow dangerous.

We joined forces with the Human Rights Campaign (HRC) and the Tennessee Equality Project (TEP) to rally our community in supporting organizations fighting for the equal rights of LGBTQ+ people by getting involved locally or donating, but this was just the beginning. We have been sponsoring drag brunches, serving attendees really good eggs and matching performers’ tips from customers.

We are proud to be listed as one of HRC’s Partners in Pride and look forward to continuing to do our part in this fight.

Check out the drag brunches we have shown up at so far.

Atomic Rose in Memphis

We kicked off our campaign at the Atomic Rose in Memphis in April where the crowd broke a record in tips given to performers and everyone enjoyed JUST Egg breakfast sandwiches made by local eatery Plant Based Heat.

Drag brunch hostess Bella DuBalle recapped the event on Instagram: “Our sponsor fed our packed-house brunch audience with an unparalleled, delicious product that is completely cruelty-free. My entertainers and I provided a family-friendly drag show, full of love and equally free of harm. We think it’s an egg-cellent match!”

Bella DuBalle thanks the crowd.

“We are three queer POC artists and getting support is never easy. This partnership was a great example of how individuals, advocacy groups and companies can come together to show up and show out for our community.”

Diskin Cider in Nashville

We then made our way to Diskin Cider in Nashville in May, where we took over the popular tasting room’s monthly Diskin Divas Drag Brunch. Patrons enjoyed plant-based JUST Egg as part of a scrumptious prix fixe menu, and, in between uproarious drag performances, learned how they could make their voices heard and take action with HRC and TEP.

“Having JUST Egg at our event was very meaningful. We are three queer POC artists and getting support is never easy. This partnership was a great example of how individuals, advocacy groups and companies can come together to show up and show out for our community,” said performer Venus Ann Serena. “It was an amazing eggsperience. Let’s do it again soon,” added performer Sapphire Mylan.

Hi-Wire Brewing in Knoxville

In July, we showed up and showed out at Hi-Wire Brewing in Knoxville, TN. A delicious JUST Egg quiche was on the menu for a packed house enjoying this energetic drag brunch. We matched tips made to the queens throughout the event, alongside continuing to educate patrons on how they can continue to take action to support LGBTQ+ communities.

“The performers are going to be thrilled. It’s so rare for people to take care of them,” said Johnny Deep after the event.

The movement doesn’t stop here.

We’ll be supporting more drag brunches and raising awareness and funds for LGBTQ+ equality and inclusion.
